Hi, I am Dopamine! I make you feel good

I play an important role in attention, memory, mood, learning, sleep, movement, and anticipatory pleasure.

Fast food and social media feeds give a HUGE hit of dopamine, but will often leave you feeling empty when the high is finished.

However, there are some natural ways to boost dopamine.

Get Out in the Sun

Take a morning walk for 20-30 mins.; walk or cycle to work/school; read newspaper/book sitting in the sun

Eat more Protein

Tyrosine and phenylalanine are the amino acids that help to produce dopamine. Turkey, eggs, dairy, soy, are some of the protein-rich food.

Exercise Often

Exercise isn't just good for your body but keeps your brain healthy as well. Do 5-10 mins of stretching near your work desk or start any aerobic activity.

Listen to Music

Listening to your favorite instrumental and choral music may boost your dopamine levels.

Get Enough Sleep

When people stay awake through the night, the availability of dopamine receptors in their brains is dramatically reduced by the next morning.
